Anthony became a psychologist for selfish reasons - he wanted to fix himself. As a teenager, Anthony underwent an emergency operation without anaesthetic for a collapsed lung and was hospitalised for 6 weeks while on a student exchange program in Central America’s third world Spanish speaking country, Honduras – a life changing experience! As a result of this experience, Anthony developed a phobia of medical procedures. He could not go near any sort of medical facility, and having needles would cause him to pass out. Anthony is proud to say that he has successfully treated his phobia.
Anthony is a psycholgist, dad, author and public speaker. He has written 8 books that focus on fear, anxiety, phobias, and increasing confidence in adults and children. He is often consulted by the media and regularly speaks to sporting and social clubs, schools and professional institutions about managing fear and becoming more confident.
Anthony after his 4th and final operation. Anaesthetic was used for this operation which was a welcome relief.
